Each of the partners of Webster Gresham and Kittell are home grown attorneys with roots running deep into the Mississippi Delta. Today's firm had it's genesis in 1977, when H. Hunter Twiford, (B.A., University of Mississippi, 1968; J. D., University of Mississippi Law School, 1972), left his sole practice and became a partner in the firm of Garmon and Wood. At that time the name of the firm was changed to Garmon Wood and Twiford. After several years of successful practice, partner Ollie Lorance "Dockey" Garmon ran for and was elected to the position of County Court Judge for Coahoma County, Mississippi, thus leaving the private practice of law. Judge Garmon has since moved to the state of Alabama where he was appointed and continues to serve as an Administrative Judge.
Upon the departure of Judge Garmon, the firm name was changed to Wood and Twiford. In 1981, Charles E. Webster (B. S., Mississippi State University, 1976; J. D., University of Mississippi Law School, 1979) became associated with Wood and Twiford. Shortly thereafter, when then senior partner Robert F. Wood, left the firm, Charles became a general partner and the name of the firm was officially changed to Twiford and Webster. After several years of practicing as a two-man firm, it became obvious that there was a need to expand. William H. "Bill" Gresham (J. D., University of Mississippi Law School, 1987) first became associated with the firm in 1989 and was later named a general partner in 1991. Continuing in it's history of utilizing home grown talent, the most recent partner, Christopher E. Kittell, (B.B.A., Delta state University, 1996; J. D., University of Mississippi Law School, 1999), a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, Mississippi, became associated with the firm in July 2001 and was made a general partner in October 2003. At that time, the firm name was changed to Webster Gresham and Kittell.
