St. Edward Mercy Medical Center v. Jarvis4/27/2005 R>
Here, Jarvis's testimony and her medical records provided substantial evidence to support the Commission's conclusion that she has suffered ongoing low-back symptoms as a result of her compensable injury in April 2000 and is entitled to additional benefits. The Commission was also correct in its ruling that because it was not until September of 2001 that Jarvis filed a request for additional medical treatment, St. Edward will not be responsible for Jarvis's unauthorized medical treatment prior to her filing. However, the Commission's decision that any medical treatment from September 2001 forward is both reasonable and necessary for the treatment of Jarvis's compensable low-back injury is supported by substantial evidence and is affirmed.
Affirmed.
Glover and Baker, JJ., agree.
