A shopper sustained an electrical shock due to an anomaly in the electrical system within the store. Having had an undergraduate background in sciences (BA Biology, MA Science), and a 50+ year experience in amateur radio and electronics, I was able to determine the cause of the shock, and to obtain a qualified expert to support the theory. This resulted in a $75,000 settlement after hotly contested discovery. The sucess of this case resulted from an experienced attorney developing a theory which was sound, and was based upon valid electrical/electronical principles, and which would be supported by a qualified expert. It also helped that the attorney could cross examine the defense expert properly.
