Russell Kohn teamed up with attorney John Hansen to represent a 51-year-old jewelry saleswoman who was seriously injured from a fall caused by a defectively designed wrought iron window grill at her Oceanside home. The defendant developer built the single-family home in 1997 as part of a tract housing project containing 127 houses. The small upstairs bedroom has only one window that slides open from right to left and is 22 inches off the bedroom floor. Outside this window is a 14-inch wide stucco potshelf surrounded by a 27-inch high decorative wrought iron grill.
